The Medical
Assistant program provides both the clinical and administrative
job skills necessary to work in medical clinics, medical centers,
or specialized care centers. The student will receive instruction
in the classroom, lab and externship sites. Students learn
to prepare patients to see the doctor, take vital signs and
record medical histories, They will also set up the examination
room, give immunizations, take EKGs and perform various lab
tests. On the administrative side, students will learn to
schedule appointments, fill out insurance forms, and maintain
patient charts.
